Sage's Puzzle[]

Episode 1: Maze[]

POG Designation: J-22-E
Maze Unsolved
The Sage's Puzzle is a complex maze that appears to have no answer as the entrance and exit seem to have no connecting path. The maze itself contains numerous mechanisms such as traps. Two of which have been seen as a dead-end with multiple pillars collapsing on the Solver and then followed by a flood. The second is a self-arming pitfall that will reset itself.
Maze Solved
The method to solve the puzzle is to trigger a mechanism allowing part of the maze to shift, thus opening up a pathway through the maze. The mechanism is a lever disguised as a support pillar that is marked with an Axe on it.

The Prize was the Armband of Orpheus.

Episode 2: Unblock[]

POG Designation: J-85-V

The Puzzle was a large Unblock puzzle where the moveable blocks were cars.

The Prize was an Antique Car

Episode 3: Scavenger Hunter/Magic Square[]

POG Designation: J-99-G
Park
This Puzzle takes place in a large public park. It originally appears as a Scavenger Hunt where the Solver must locate the numbers 1 through 16 around the park and then input them into a predetermined arrangement on a 4x4 square. The Solvers are given 16 minutes to complete the puzzle or several bombs would detonate around them.

There are two tricks to solving the puzzle. The first is to realize that the 4x4 square is a Magic Square. A mathematical model where the sum of all the numbers vertically, horizontally, and diagonally is the same. In a 4x4 Magic Square, the sum is 34. The second is that the physical location of the numbers are already arranged in a Magic Square to show the Solvers what order to input them in.

Ironically, Nonoha contributed more numbers than Gammon who didn't locate a single one. Both Kaito and Nonoha found 3 each before Kaito calculated the rest of the square.

The prize is the beautiful scenery of the city at sunset.

Answer

16 2 3 13
5 11 10 8
9 7 6 12
4 14 15 1

Episode 4: Safe Code[]

POG Designation: J-207-H

The puzzle takes place in the mansion of a recently deceased and great artist who had his butler make this puzzle. The goal of the puzzle is to find a four-digit number code to unlock the safe. The puzzle starts in a sealed room with fifteen paintings hanging on the walls, a clock, and the safe. Solving this puzzle starts with removing all the paintings not attached to the wall and then rearranging them in accordance with the three paintings that cannot be removed. This is done by matching the pattern on the frames of each painting. The result is the paintings lined up in a 3x5 arrangement of paintings. The paintings reveal that initials of the paintings lined up vertically are the same. The initials are M, D, L, C, and V, which become the code.

The Prize is the most precious collection of paintings of the artist which were all paintings of his wife.

Answer:

To turn these five letters into a number code, see the letters as Roman Numerals and then convert them into Arabic Numerals.

M = 1000, D = 500, L = 50, C = 100, and V becomes 5. Added together, is 1655.

This is also the first Sage's Puzzle Kaito had faced that wasn't life-threatening since the 'Poison Gas' that was used to threaten the Solver was nothing more than theatrical smoke.

Episode 10: Puzzle Kingdom[]

POG Designation: J-319-H

Puzzle Kingdom Unsolved
Puzzle Kingdom is the name of a famous reality show staring Erena Himakawa who gives her puzzle to chosen participates. The puzzle itself requires the Solver to place a total of 18 pieces split into 3 colors on a 6x6 game board in a predetermined pattern. There are two main rules, the first is that on the same row or column, the same color cannot be repeated, much like sudoku. The second is that on the border of the game board, are hints where one of the three colors is located. From the border going into the game board, the first piece it sees must be the same color as the one on the border. However, there will be blocker pieces that hide some of the hints.

When played by Kaito, there are two blocker pieces that hid the hints. Those pieces are Gammon and Nonoha. Additional rules that are added was that the Solver now has the ability to freely remove the blocker pieces with a control panel on his armrest. In doing so, the blocker pieces would fall into a deep hole under the game board where they aren't expected to survive. At the same time, the blocker pieces also receive a control panel, where they have the choice to either press the button and fall on the own, or close the panel and have the Solver die. If the Solver is unable to solve the puzzle in the allocated 5 minutes, all three will fall.

The Prize is ¥10,000,000.

Answer:

Puzzle Kingdom Solved

Even though they solved the puzzle, Kaito and Co were too tired to claim the reward and left. Gammon, realizing this, ran back to get the ten million yen but was denied entry

Episode 11: Block Arrangement[]

The Puzzle rules are that there are several blocks of different shapes and a different number of layers, with the tallest being eight layers. All the blocks must be arranged in a limited space so that they all fit. No two blocks of the height can be placed right next to each other and the tallest blocks cannot be placed facing a specific direction.

The Prize was a puzzle book of Erena Himekawa as a child. While known as a prodigy at puzzles, the book was filled with mistakes proving the deception. Nevertheless, it is without a doubt that Erena does hold a love for puzzles.

Fool's Puzzle[]

Episode 1-2: Water Trap[]

At the end of the first episode, Kaito is given a second puzzle by Minotaur. While it was never stated, this puzzle is most likely a Fool's Puzzle as there was no 'reward' for solving the puzzle and was meant to test the powers of the Orpheus Armlet.

Rules:

Ep1 - 10

Kaito has to pull one of the ropes.

You must choose and pull one of the three ropes in front of you

Ep1 - 11

The water is flowing through.

The water is flowing towards the supporting beams.

Soon, they will not be able to support the weight of the water.

If you want to survive, you must pull the rope that stops the water's flow.

However, if you pull the wrong rope, the ruins will instantly collapse.

At first, Kaito was unable to solve the puzzle due to its sheer complexity and almost fails to solve the puzzle as the wooden structure begins to break down.

That was when Kaito awakens the Orpheus' Armband, and solves the puzzle in the first episode but has only revealed the process and completed the puzzle at the end of the second episode.

By eliminating all the dummy engines, Kaito traces a path through the puzzle and pulls the middle rope. In this manner, the puzzle was solved.

Episode 9: Rainbow Apple Logic Puzzle[]

This puzzle takes place on a makeshift stage that was most likely made with Snow White as the theme. There are Seven Dwarves dressed in different colored clothing sitting on large apples while holding out seven different colored apples. Among the apple's, there are delicious apples that have to be discovered. Only the dwarves who speak the truth will hold a delicious apple. The Dwarves will speak out different lines to indicate which dwarves are truthful dwarves and which ones are the deceitful dwarves. As the Puzzle takes place, the stage is lit on fire to pressure the Solver.

While the Giver claimed that it was a Sage's Puzzle, since the puzzle had no prizes (besides the hostage used to make the Solver come), and that the puzzle was only designed to kill the Solver, it can be considered a Fool's Puzzle.

Lines:

Red Dwarf: "The Black Dwarf has a Delicious Apple"

Orange Dwarf: "I dug up gold nuggets!"

Yellow Dwarf: "I'm in the same group as the Orange Dwarf"

Green Dwarf: "The weather in the mountains changes often. It rained heavily yesterday"

Blue Dwarf: "I'm not in the same group as the White Dwarf"

Black Dwarf: "I am not in the same group as the Green Dwarf"

White Dwarf: "The Red Dwarf holds a delicious Apple"

At first, even though Kaito deciphered the above lines, he was unable to come up with an answer because the Giver purposely withheld information with the intention of killing him with the puzzle. At the last moment, Minotaur intervenes and releases the final line allowing Kaito to solve the puzzle.

"There are three delicious apples"

Answer:

Truthful Dwarves: Orange, Yellow, and Blue

Episode 12-13: Death Path/Tower[]

This is the first puzzle that was revealed to be a Fool's Puzzle. Filled with bladed disks that fly at the Solver to force them to solve the puzzle faster. It begins in a maze like cavern where the Solver is given a map and forced to traverse the path while being followed by large bladed disks. Afterward's, he reaches a tower with fourteen floors and on the final floor is a large bell to indicate that the puzzle has been solved. To reach the top floor, the Solver takes elevators with a different floor number on them. The Elevator then takes them to the listed floor. Each floor has multiple elevators to take the Solver to different floors until they can reach the top floor. While doing so, huge bladed disks fly out of the walls with the intention of killing the Solver throughout the entire process.

Episode 14: Cross Number[]

Cross Number unsolved
Taking place in an abandoned military base, there are five screens displaying the puzzle split into one full chart and four sub-sections. Each sub-section is shaped in the outline perimeter of a Plus+ symbol with each long line being composed of five boxes and the short lines being of three boxes. Every other box contains a Plus, Minus, Multiple, or Division sign. The Full Chart is a large Plus sign with the other four sections combined into it with each long line becoming seven boxes in length. This puzzle is similar to a Crossword puzzle where the Solver has to input numbers into the blank boxes so that each straight equation equals 10. The rules are that no number can be used twice on a single line and that partial numbers are already included in the puzzle to serve as hints. Each section is given 120 seconds to complete and when the timer hits zero, a tank outside the base will fire at something nearby. That said, each chart doesn't need to be finished in the time frame and can be continued at any of the following sections.

Rook made this puzzle when he was 5.

Episode 16: Labyrinth of Condemnation[]

Vienna Maze
A labyrinth was built into the aquatic channels of Venice where the Solver boards a gondola and proceeds down the channel. The goal is to pass through a total of 5 gates in a specific order before the time runs out. If they are unable to reach the gate in time, the gate will close and the propellers on the gondola will rush the Solver into the closed Gate where the collision will kill them. When traversing the water channels, the Solver cannot turn at any 90-degree turns or they will crash. Gammon passed through the first four gates without an issue until he reached the final gate where all the paths wouldn't allow him to pass through the gate, indicating the puzzle has no solution. Kaito manages to use the rising tide to force the gondola to turn at one of the 90 degree turns which barely lets them pass the final gate in time.

Episode 17: Cavern Pass[]

This is the puzzle which killed Kaito's parents. Taking place inside a cavern, there is a large rift between two spaces. Between the ledges are multiple plateforms that are connected by multiple carriages and ropes. When the Solver enters a carriage, it will traverse the maze of ropes in the same manner as a ladder lottery before reaching the other side. The goal is to have all the carriages fall and make it to the other side at the same time. There are two ways to make carriages fall, the first is that each carriage has three torches lit on them and everytime they are used, one torch will go out. Once all three are extinguished, the carriage will fall. The second is that if there is already a carriage where a new carriage is heading towards, that carriage will also fall. While traversing the platforms, arrows will be fired at the Solver. After completion, the entire puzzle collapses and falls apart, Kaito claims that the puzzle thanked him for releasing it.

Episode 18: Light Barrier Duel[]

Light enclosed
Light Win

winning conditions

The puzzle takes place on a large stage which contains 81 polls arranged in a 9x9 square. Each player has a sword that when hit between two pillars, will create a barrier of light. Doing the same will eliminate the barrier. The barriers have to connect or chain back to the mother pole at their respective starting points. Each player can create a total of 8 barriers at a time or else they will disappear. This can be overridden by completing a closed domain to expand the players reach into the field. Both players can create a barrier between the same poles to create a double barrier but each player can only release their own barriers. The goal is to trap the opponent into a single square using four light barriers. Each player wears a vest filled with bombs that will go off when this happens.

Rather then a puzzle, this is more of a game.

Episode 19: Cycle Duel[]

Cycle Race
Two bikes that are driven at the same speed are sent into a track with multiple layers. The goal is to get behind the opposing player and hit the back of their bike with a laser to detonate the explosives on the bike. To move between layers, the bike's are fitted with a controller that will open and close different gates that are scattered around the course. At one time, only ten gates can be opened between the two players.

Episode 20: Deconstruction Duel[]

Beam Removal
This puzzle involves two players too stand on top of a structure made up of metal construction beams. Both players are able to remove up to three beams a turn. The player standing on the final beam in considered the winner. Each payer has a limited amount of time to decide which beams and how many they remove. Note that this does take place in a physical setting where gravity and other physical laws affect the structure so if a crucial supporting beam is removed, it can lead to a domino effect and take several beams down with it.

Episode 23: Combative-Type Pillar Puzzle[]

Two players enter a large room with four walls. Each wall contains in total a hundred collapsed pillars that when called, will extend as far as they can go into the room. Each wall has a suits sign on it between Spade, Diamond, Clover, and Heart. Each pillar is then numbered between 1 and 100. Players can call the pillar and it will extend. The goal is to use the pillars to climb out of the room before the opponent, meaning they will have to call and climb at least ten pillars. Each player can only call one pillar a turn and neither of them can be on one pillar at the same time. Players can use the pillars offensively by using a pillar to attack their opponent or defensively by blocking their opponent's view. When the game is complete, all the pillars are released crushing the player remaining within.
